CELL STRUCTURE
DNA: the genes are found in the chromosomes that make up the DNA
BLOOD CELLS
RED BLOOD CELLS (eurythrocytes): carry oxygen from the lungs to the organs of the body
PLATELETS: group together for the blood to clot
WHITE BLOOD CELLS: fight infection in the body and there are many different types
PLASMA: the liquid in the blood vessel
All blood cells are produced in the bone marrow from stem cells (immature cells) and the bone marrow is found in the bones of the body (skeleton)
LYMPHATIC SYSTEM
The lymphatic system is similar to the network of blood vessels, but they carry lymph fluid which passes through lymph nodes (glands). The main function of the lymphatic system is to fight off infection in the body.
